Bryn y Cwm is the northern part of the Welsh county of Monmouthshire, centered on Abergavenny and including the eastern edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park. The area has a population of over 20,000.
The Bryn y Cwm Community Forum was established as an independent body in 2003 by Monmouthshire County Council. It was the council's wish that the people of Abergavenny and surrounding area should have a platform from which their views could be heard.
It is the Forum's aim, by consensus, to address and convey to Monmouthshire County Council and other public bodies, in a positive and constructive manner, the wishes, opinions and concerns of local people.
